One bit of constructive criticism; Hurry up and get even more of the latest and greatest product on the streets. Sonic-Pro wading pants and zip waders are the best on the market, regardless of price. Great fit, comfortable and seemingly (pun intended) very durable. Skagit boot with rubber soles are the first non-felt soled boot that I have worn that keeps me connected to the river bottom. The soles have a softer material than other brands and although they are aggressive, the boot is very comfortable and easy to hike in. Glad someone was thinking. Good looking too. I am wearing a L/S Lost River T as I type this and will be throwing on my new favorite piece of clothing, the Cascade Hoody, to go float the Henrys Fork and cast some Salmonflies in the snow. I can't say enough how impressed I am with Redingtons new line-up and can't wait to see what is in store for later in 2011. Keep up the great work!
Would definitely want a sonic BOOTFOOT wader. Please consider this for men as well as a woman's wader.
Used these for guiding the 2011 season on the Upper Arkansas River near Leadville CO and, I have to say I've never been more impressed with a wader material. I don't know what that stuff is but it is tough! This season included guiding walk/wade trips in rugged country, extensive beaver dam eradication, and canyon busting where the steep banks ripped the clothes under my waders - but left the waders unaffected. After all that, all I could manage to do to these things is put a pinhole in the rear. Awesome!!! Believe me when I say these things are field tested and pass with flying colors. And at that price point you simply will not find better quality. Keep up the great work Redington!
The Sonic waders are the best value in the entire fly fishing industry. The quality, comfort, and durability has highly exceeded my expectations.
The Sonic-Pro waders with its sonic welded seam technology is one of the most important contributions to fly fishing since the introduction of the graphite rod. Historically, the finest waders would invariably spring a leak somewhere in the stitched seam. My Sonic-Pros have not had one leak after over 100 days of use. They are the best fitting, lightest, toughest and most comfortable waders I have ever worn. I could not be more pleased. John S. Barr
Last year (2011) I purchased a pair of the Redington Sonic Pro Wader Pants from a local fly fishing shop here in Denver. I had already purchased a pair of chest waders but found that the chest waders were a little to warm on a warm summer day in Colorado. Being a Tenkara fisherman I figured that there really was no need for a pair of chest waders on most days or rivers that I had fished since the water is never much above my knees anyway. So, after doing a bit of research, I decided that the Redington Sonic Pro Wader Pant would be a good way to go. I had the shop order me a pair and I can now say with almost a years worth of out of them that it was one of the best purchases I made in regards to my apparel for my Tenkara fishing. The have taken a beating this past year and I can tell I have a few more years in them before they even show any signs of wear. I am impressed with the details that have gone into these waders beyond the Sonic Seam process that Redington has come up with. A great feature of the Sonic Weld technology is that seams are so small that you do not have any uncomfortable seams to deal with. Also it keeps the overall bulk of the waders to a minimum. The two pockets on the front of the pants are gusseted and they are really quite deep so with that depth you can carry everything in your pockets and don't really even need a chest pack or vest if you are going minimalistic. Another feature that I really like about these waders are the neoprene socks and the gravel guards that are included. The neoprene is nice and thick so it keeps your feet warm and toasty whenever you are in reasonably cold water. The size of the booties fits my feet very well with my boots on and I believe that they will work for anyone unless you have a very strangely shaped foot. The gravel guards are extremely well designed as well and ride low on the boot, thus keeping them from working there way over the top of the boot and exposing the interior of the boot. Because of the cut of the gravel guard and the tapering and tightness of the lower bands on the guards you very ever seldom find any resistance or extra fabric that catches the water flow. The pants from top to bottom are almost cut in my opinion as a boot cut which I really like because there is very little fabric that gets pulled and pushed by the running water of the river. Redington has added fabric in the knees for extra durability but I do have to admit that I would like to see it just a little thicker in the knees and butt area but otherwise everything is amazing. So, if you are looking for a great pair of waders for a very reasonable price and not a lot of bulk then these are what I would suggest as an awesome pair of new waders for the budding or experienced Tenkara fisherman. Since the typical Tenkara fisherman is primarily on small rivers these will be a great way to go and not be overkill. I would definitely suggest that you try these on at your local Redington dealer due to the fact that sizing is a little difficult for length if you order online. I would also suggest that you read any other reviews that you can find on these waders. I wear waders 100 days a year.I sell them the other 265 days. Being the co-owner of a fly shop, my fishing days are limited. If my waders fail, I lose a day. My Sonic-Pros are flawless. My own experience gives me the confidence to sell them to my best customers. We have sold Sonic-Pros this past year and have had no returns. Keep up the great work. Mickey Anderson
We at Westover Farms really enjoyed the use of the new Redington boots and waders. We are a destination fishing resort as well as a fully functioning hatchery supplying rainbow trout to many different places, sometimes across state lines. It’s important that we have reliable, cleanable products that can stand unreasonable circumstances. There are not many fisherman who do the stomping, kicking, and crawling that is sometimes necessary to get them the fish in the first place. There are chores we put our waders and boots through that no fisherman would likely encounter. The boots and waders held up beyond our expectations…..keep em coming!
Hey Redington. I'm a flyfishing guide in the mountains in Colorado and just wanted to pass on some feedback on the waders I've been using since last summer. I tested the Redington Women's Sonic-Pro waders and boots - Loved em! The waders withstood tromping and crawling through the willows and over rocks, and the boots were so comfy I couldn't believe it. Love the new tread. Overall, I'd recommend this combo to any woman looking for functional and fashionable fishin digs. Thanks Redington!
I have been using these wader pants since last summer and love them. They go on as easy as putting on jeans, are tough as nails, and don't get funky like neoprene. It is a no-brainer to leave them in my vehicle in case wet conditions are encountered since they roll up so small. While fishermen may be the primary market, I use mine for bird & nature photography whenever I'm in a wet spot, including marshes, soggy tundra, and wet meadows. I often sit or kneel to photograph my subjects, so rubber boots won't do the trick like wader pants do.
